Ingredients: Organic Hard Red Wheat

Bread Machine Directions:

  1. Add the first 5 ingredients to the bread machine and set it on the dough cycle.
  2. Once the cycle is complete, use floured hands to remove the dough and shape it into a 16-inch long, 3-inch wide baguette.
  3. Brush the baguette with butter and place it on a baking sheet sprinkled with cornmeal.
  4. Cover with a towel and let it rise in a warm place until doubled in size.
  5. Make 4 slashes across the width of the loaf.

Conventional Oven Directions:

  1. In a bowl, mix yeast, sugar, and warm water.
  2. Beat in salt and gradually add flour.
  3. Place the dough on a floured surface and knead for 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Shape the dough into a baguette and follow the steps mentioned above.
  5. Bake the prepared baguette in a preheated 400-degree oven for about 30 minutes or until it turns golden. Spritz the baguette with water twice during the baking cycle.
