Chewy Honey Brownies

Chocolaty, whole grain goodness!


  • 2 ounces unsweetened chocolate
  • 1/4 cup (4 tablespoons or 1/2 stick) butter or margarine
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/2 cup WEM Whole Wheat Flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans


  1.  Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Grease a 9 X 9 inch baking pan.
  3. In double boiler or microwave, melt the chocolate and butter together. Stir in honey and let cool. Stir in eggs and vanilla.
  4. In separate bowl mix together flour and salt then add to chocolate mixture.
  5. Blend in nuts.
  6. Pour in to prepared pan.
  7. Bake 30-35 minutes until top is dry or almost firm to the touch.
  8. Cool and cut into squares.
